Is Body Body's Speedy Delivery Faster than Jimmy John's?
Our Delivery Supervisor, Anna, got the idea for this cute little post, when Martin in Data entry noticed that a customer's package was already queued and the label printed before he even finished writing the Order Confirmation notice! Martin was impressed and observed she would probably get her Body Body lingerie before her Jimmy John's ham sandwich!
Well, probably not. But Body Body's streamlined ahipping process has become remarkably fast beating out industry giants like Amazon and Adam & Eve. The reason is new proprietary technology that speeds order information directly to our warehouse and triggers an automated pick mechanism often before human hands can complete the record keeping. That's why most of our orders ship in 24 hours (even on the weekends) and some within a few minutes of the customer placing the order. Of course, some items take longer. International orders take somewhat longer and that's because for overseas shipments our primary concern is reliability and security. We want to make sure our packages are handled by a trusted courier who can be counted on to get a package to its destination without loss or mishap. For this reason we most often choose Fedex or DHL Global Express as our shipping partner. Our procedures also include a centralized international shipping facility that inspects packages before they leave the US to make sure that the products do not violate any local ordinances and that the information required is all safely included in the shipping pouch. All international shipments go through this hub first. That adds a day or so to the ship time, but the short wait is worth it since it means international customers can expect to receive their orders safely with the same confidence as US customers.
We'll probably never be faster than Jimmy John's. We don't have dedicated couriers on bikes. But we are already faster than Amazon and the other big guys in most cases. And, unlike Amazon, we have no plans to use creepy drones hovering in front of your bedroom window!
